Jayme & Co. Pensacola Beach Family Photographer

THIS SESSION…sigh…it may set a new record for me. For the most images I’ve EVER posted and for the most I’ve ever been in love with the images I took home.  It almost wasn’t so spectacular. Oh, don’t get me wrong. This family?? Omg. Gorgeous x’s a million.  Just look. You’ll see for yourself.  Jayme is an amazingly talented photog in her own right.  And she chose me to capture her families memories.  What an honor.  And I’m honored today to call her my friend.  I thank God for putting her in my life.

Despite a little “glitch”…every image was just…AMAZING.  I had a hard time choosing what to blog.  And I almost blogged their entire session.  No joke.;)

A little note…just as I was posting this…she sent me a message…to thank me for all the images I had given her family.  I was quick to tell her that it was her that it was her whom I owed a thank y0u to.  Jayme…I am so thankful for you.  I can’t wait to see you and those beautiful babies next year. xo

Jayme - You’re the best, Christina!!! Thank you, thank you for all the sweet words!!!

It had been threatening rain all that day.  It was gray and gloomy when I left my house.  My heart was sinking…thinking I would have to postpone the session, or that she wouldn’t get that beautiful sunset shoot that she wanted.  As I was driving to their condo in Orange Beach along Perdido Key Drive, the sun burst thru the clouds.  It was sunny!!!!   I was ecstatic!!

When Melissa stepped off the elevator and gave me a huge hug, I felt like I had met an old friend.  The rest of the evening we spent in the surf and laughing.  It’s evident how much fun we had in every photo:)  This place holds a lot of memories for this family.  It was so special to be able to document their time there.

That night, my husband, my kids and his parents were all waiting for me to get home from my session.   I was driving back home, windows down, the Gulf to my right, sun setting behind me, sand all over my legs, music up…thinking how incredibly blessed I am that THIS was my commute home.  No traffic.  No stoplights.  Just the beach, my camera in the passenger seat and ME.

Leigh - Love this!! :) those photos are so sweet & what great memories for this family!! we are truly blessed !!

Week in Photos. Perdido Key Lifestyle Photographer.

This past week was C-R-A-Z-Y busy.  2 photo shoots, soccer, countless hours of editing, projects completed,  a ‘reunion’ with a much loved friend (and a new much loved friend:)a few trips to the beach, got crazy lost in the middle of nowhere, visited my husband at Eglin AFB and I’m full circle again back to editing. **As we speak, coffee is brewing (my 2nd pot of the evening) and Pandora stations are streaming….**

There were so many moments this past week that absolutely, totally rocked my soul in the best way.  Have you ever felt that you are exactly where you need to be at this very moment?  That’s where I am.

Getting to this place in my bus life didn’t happen overnight.  And it’s just the beginning!! It wasn’t just one thing.  It took time.  It was a series of events and a series of people that came together.   What I’ve learned over the last 3 years? Be you.  Be funny. Be spontaneous. Be crazy. Be likeable. Be memorable.  BE HONEST. If that’s who you really are, it will shine thru.   Be Genuine.   I couldn’t have done it without you.  Yes, you.  So…THANK YOU.

So…getting off my soapbox now…;)  Back to my week in photos.

I get lost going to the Mall in Pensacola. True story.  So, it’s no surprise I got crazy lost going to Eglin AFB and ended up in HOLT. HOLT. I had never even heard of it before. BUT. I did find this awesome little piece of forgotten Americana. It’s great, isn’t it?

FINALLY made it to Eglin. 2 hours late, but still…

My husband showing off his new truck. Nice ride.

Every time I see this, Nelly’s song “Air Force Ones” pops in my head…

Shhh. Don’t tell Chief.

What makes a 3 year old boy ecstatic? Turning on the fire truck lights…

10 mins. later…

Daddy and his little.

“Dad, what does this button do?”

This is what happens when Mikey hears Jason Aldean on the radio…

(Good Lord am I STILL driving??!!)

We stopped in Navarre to take in the sunset.

The best reunion ever.

Uncovered Ship on Johnson’s Beach | Perdido Key | Florida | Landscape Photographer

Today, I may have discovered a shipwreck. No, really.  In a part of Johnson’s Beach that we go to all the time. Right at the shoreline.  Just sitting there.  It’s as if she decided overnight that she needed to be discovered.  Say what??!! Yeah…that’s what I said too…

Earlier this afternoon, I had decided to take my 3 year old to let off some steam and run around in the sun for a while.  I always park the furthest East in the parking lot.  That stretch of the beach usually isn’t so crowded.  We walked down alongside the pavilion and headed straight for the waters edge.  First thing I notice is that the water is flat as glass. Visibility is crystal clear and you can make out every single one of the condos along Pensacola Beach in the distance. FABULOUS.

Then something caught my eye.  I thought it was a bunch of sticks that kids had stuck in the sand when they were playing, but it just didn’t look right for that spot.  I just about yelped when I realized this was the hull of a boat I was looking at.  I could make out the huge iron rivets and long iron nails.  The wood looked practically petrified and amazingly didn’t have any barnacles on them, which makes me think she had been under the sand for a loooooong time.

I came home, hoping to get some answers about what her history was.  The Rangers were out today, so I turned to my FB page, asking if anyone had ever seen or heard of a ship here.  As it gained momentum and more and more people started talking about it, I started to realize that not one single person had ever seen her before. WOW. Really?? Could that really happen??!! I’m still thinking the odds are too infinitesimal that I would stumble upon this.   A quick search of Google and nothing.  It’s now being shared like crazy and dare I say, seems to be going viral. And so far, nothing. Nobody has come forward to say they have ever seen this (now would be the time for you to chime in if you have).

The historian in me just has to know her story.  How old is she?  I need to know. Like now. I may have a hard time sleeping tonight until I can get back to the beach tomorrow.  So, until then.  Here she is.  In all her glory.  Well, what’s left of it. But she’s still beautiful to me.

xo,

Christina

Levers - Unbelieveable! This is totally awesome. You are gonna be part of history. I can’t wait to find out what this ship was!

Nancy G. - Get the metal detector out! There could be some gold or sunken treasure under that sand too!

Kandace - That is so amazing we go there all the time. I have to see it.
I can’t believe its been there, just under the sand, all this time.
